Wet N' Wild

Hi Dolls!

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I wanted to do a review on Wet N’ Wild products, a very affordable brand everyone can add to their makeup collection. 
When it comes to makeup, I am all about richness and highly pigmented products. And when it comes to makeup, sometimes you get what you pay for. BUT, not when we are talking Wet N’ Wild matte lipsticks and shadow collections. 

If you all haven’t heard of Wet N’ Wild, I would be surprised. It’s been around forever it feels like. It was my go to drugstore makeup brand when I was first starting out, lets say 7^th grade. I haven’t used it in quite a spell and thought I would see if they have stepped up their game, which they surely have.

I am loving their semi-matte MEGA LAST lipsticks right now. The pigment in these lipsticks are out of this world. They are matte, yet have a beautiful cream finish.  These glide on easily and provide you with beautiful moisture and rich color for a good 6 hours. I can have my morning coffee and eat lunch before having to reapply! Better yet, they are a bargain price at $1.89 a piece. With twenty-five luscious shades to pick from, I am sure there is one out there for most everyone to enjoy ;)

My two favorites that I cannot seem to get enough of lately are, Don’t Blink Pink (brighter shade) and Think Pink (lighter shade). I tell ya, I can never get enough beautiful pinky nude shades in my collection and I am a sucker for anything bright lately. Don’t Blink Pink is a great dupe to MAC’s- Girl About Town and Think Pink is a great dupe to MAC’s- Please Me.

 

 

Ever thought about playing up your eyes with some colored shadows, but never feel like spending the bucks on products to do so? Wet N' Wild’s COLOR ICON Eye shadow Collections are fabulous. They include eight beautiful, highly pigmented shadows that are great to play around with, especially if you are new to color. They also help you with defining where to apply what color.
 

With the holidays just around the corner, you definitely want to add at least one of these great palates to your collection. Looks are endless with the variety of shades offered in each palate. The two palates that I have been loving are Petal Pusher and Blue Had Me at Hello. There is also a third palate that I have yet to get my hands on, called Comfort Zone. As you can see below, the highly pigmented colors are amazing. At 6$ a piece, you truly cannot resist these collections.

BOOT-ique

Happy TGIF Dolls!

 

Living in Michigan this month, I am not sure to flip on a pair of sandals or bust out the boot collection with this weather we have been having. No matter where you Fall or Winter- boots should be a functional and fashionable piece to everyone's closet.

For me, I cannot get enough of the ankle booties this season. They are comfy, versatile, stylish, trendy and affordable buy.

Call me a boot-a-holic, I bought these beauties below in early August ;)

 

 

 

 

What to pair with these boots you all ask.

 

From Left to Right:

 

1. I would pair this tan wedge ankle boot with a pair of black skinny jeans, a carmel oversized top, and a black leather bomber jacket. If you are a bit daring, I would throw on a floppy hat and a bold berry lip.

2. I would pair this black wedged beauty with a great pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, a great statement t-shirt, and an oversized above the knee sweater jacket.

3. Pair these fun fringe heeled boots with a great fall floral maxi dress and a jean jacket. Or a skinny jean and classy kimono.

4. This fun pair of black wedge boots are unfortunately sold out, but I found you a similar look that I actually like better! Pair this fun pair of black booties with just about anything. A pair of black leggings and over sized t-shirt comes to my mind. Also this bootie would look great with a casual dress, bomber jacket, and a great hat.

Berry Beautiful Lippies

Hope everyone is having a great week. Half of September has already flown by. I cannot believe it!

Fall is my favorite time of the year for many reasons. One being Fall fashion and beauty.
 

I could not be more thrilled with the fact that the bold berry lip is in high demand this Fall. Purples, berries, and red lippies to me scream fierce and fabulous.

I often pair these bold lips with a neutral eye and a clean face. If I am going out for cocktails and dancing, or a fancy dinner, I may kick it up a notch with a cat eye and some false lashes.

 

Here are just a few I picked up recently.

 These swatches are one swipe of each color. I paired both Cover Girl products together in the last swatch. These lipsticks are very pigmented and you can build them for a more dramatic look.

Not sure you can rock this look? Sure you can! Take baby steps and start off with a lighter shade ;)

1. Find your favorite celebrity figure who is rocking the dark berry lip to help you mimic the look. Beyonce, Katy Perry, Coco Rocha, and Khloe Kardashian are just to name a few.

2. The lighter your skin, the more dramatic the look. Decide how much of a statement you want to make and adjust your look accordingly.

3. Be sure and outline your lips with a lip pencil close to the shade of your lipstick. Any drugstore brand will do. This will give you a symmetric overall look. Apply lipstick with a brush for longer wear if you do not have a steady hand.

4. Your lips are doing all the talking. Be sure and keep your skin fresh, clean, and dewy. Make your eyes pop with your favorite mascara. Want an added pop to this look, amp it up with a pair of falsies.

Many of you may ask what would you wear with this lip? Your options are endless! Try a great pair of skinny jeans, over the knee boots and bomber jacket. A great cocktail dress . A pair of palazzo pants and a great tank.
Lets just say, you can pair this lip with as simple as a t-shirt and boyfriend jeans.

 ALL YOU NEED IS CONFIDENCE LADIES!

Nailed It

Hi Dolls!

 

Oh, it has been too long. Three weeks too long. I do apologize! I have definitely missed blogging to you all these past few weeks. Life has been a little chaotic. Pray you never get a kidney stone. They are truly miserable in more ways than you can count.

 

Is everyone ready for FALL? I sure am :) But that doesn't mean you can neglect your pretty fingers and toes.

 

Who doesn't love getting pampered with a great mani or pedi?! It is relaxing and you walk out of the salon looking like a million bucks. But who has the time or even the money to get your fingernails and toes painted every 2 weeks.

Not everyone....

 

Anyone dread painting their own nails? I just don't have the time or patience to allow them to dry completely. So what ends up happening....I will think they are dry, then I go do something around the house and I am wrong every time. I should have waited another 5 or 10 minutes for them to dry. Back to square one.

 

Well ladies, stress no more. Thanks to a couple special people in my life, I was recently introduced to a product I call " A Girls Best Friend."

Just Peachy

Hi Dolls!

 

Hope you all have had a great week so far. I am sorry I have not posted in a while. Life has been crazy busy!

This post is a bunch of firsts for me.

My first mini photo shoot. My first time posting pictures of myself on the blog. And my first time blogging about what I myself am wearing.

Kind of exciting! :)

 

I can't lie, I am not much of one to have a serious face on ever.

If you know me, I am either smiling or laughing out loud, usually at myself! And I have never been a huge fan of my photo taken either. Though I have to say when it was all said and done, it was a riot taking these photos. 

My girlie friend Dawn shot these beautiful pictures and I was lucky enough to have some great girlfriends there cheering me on, making me laugh my butt off! So I may just have to add a blooper in just for kicks.

I chose to share this look with you all because it's fun, relaxed and a flirty girl next door look. Pair this look with beautiful beach waves and natural makeup with medium deep contouring and you have yourselves this look.

 

This set of jeans truly is one of the comfiest pairs I have ever owned. They work  great with your curves, but remain stretchy and comfy at the same time. They are a fabulous dark wash that have an amazing slimming affect on the legs and make your "toosh" look amazing.

Another plus is they go with just about everything.

 

I am loving this peach sweater. It is so effortless with a beautiful hint of sparkle. Peach may just be one of my favorite colors. Blondes, brunettes and red heads can all pull this color off and look fabulous.

 

Shoes shoes shoes! I just can never get enough of them! Ask my husband, they take over our entire home and garage.  

This nude pair of wedges walked into my life this spring and have walked many miles with me. They go great with a boot cut jean, flare, skinny and boyfriend fit. Not to mention, the best part is they were less than 20$ and you can wear them for hours.

COLOR Me Pretty

Thinking about changing up your strands for Fall 2013? It’s just hair. What do you have to lose?!

Dimension is key for this seasons color trends. It’s about enhancing your natural tones by kicking it up a couple notches.

My beachy buttery blondes be sure to ask for blended sunny highlights with deep golden low-lights. Jen, Cameron, Blake, Kate and Rachel are all beautiful examples. Long, medium or short you can

still be a blonde bombshell with lovely golden hues. 

 

For hair like honey, ask for a shadowing affect at your root which will make you a deeper blonde. It is super seductive and sultry with a deeper root cascading to a honey golden blonde. Just take a look at these babes below.
Flawless and fabulous!

Strawberry Goldilocks be sure and go for a richer golden red hue this season. It will give you a seductive and sultry look.
 I am so jelly of red heads. How can you not drool over Emma, Amy and Isla's gorgeous red locks, right?!
Red to me just rings sexy! It makes me want to take the plunge from blonde to red this season :)
 

 

Golden sunny brown gals be sure and aim for subtle honey and caramel laced highlights.

From Maria and JLO to Jessica and Kate, these girls are style icons.

They are always changing up their brunette locks and always keeping it fresh.

 

  

 

If your locks are chocolate brown, go for fine streaks of gold and copper enhanced highlights with face framing layers. Or kick it up a notch and ask for these golden tones towards the ends for an ombre look to give a fresh twist on your brunette bombshell locks.
 I myself can not stop admiring the gorgeous gold tones in Minka and Khloe's hair.
 If you have gorgeous long cascading locks, you must try the ombre look this Fall.

 

 

 

My rich deep browns, go daring for a deep dark all-over hue.
If you are one with that fabulous olive skin tone that everyone wishes they had, you must kick it up a notch and go DARK!
The Kardashian sisters are great examples of this gorgeous hue.

That’s what’s so fun about these stunning sweatshirt pieces. They are comfy and versatile. You can dress them up or down. Pair them with a great leather legging or a great pair of boyfriend jeans. Pop on a ballet flat or dress it up with a pointy toe pump.

There are lovely details in each one of these pieces. From animal print to lace, to sparkle and bedazzle, who can complain?!

Take for example the animal print piece from Forever 21. If I were to dress this piece up, I would pair it with a great distressed black skinny jean, a red lip, black studded pumps, diamond studded earrings, a fabulous clutch and a great fedora hat. Still comfy, but looking fabulous.

Well then how do you simply dress this piece down? I would pair the same animal print sweatshirt with a great denim boyfriend jean or even a flare leg jean. Add a red ballet flat and your favorite black and silver bangles to achieve a comfy, yet stylish look.

Falling into Fall

Happy weekend to you all!

Can you believe Fall is just around the corner?! I tell ya, this summer is going by so so fast. I still have summer clothes with tags on them ;)

Every store I run in lately, I cannot keep my hands off from buying the Fall season styles. No complaints here, it is my favorite season.

I love everything about Fall from style, beauty, tailgating, bonfires, weather, apple cider, rooting the Spartys on in football- I could go on forever.
.

I am loving the look of all the modern bohemian styles coming this fall.

Everything from fringe, to feminine flowy dresses and great booties, to floppy hats and statement headbands.

We see bits and pieces of the hippie spirit shining through this fun trend.

 It is effortlessly chic, comfy, stylish and simple.

Who doesn't love a great pink lipstick?! One of my TOP 5 lipsticks of all time.
I found this beauty in July and cannot stop wearing it. It's a beautiful Barbie, bubblegum pink.

It goes on satiny smooth and compliments any set of lips with the right attitude :)

MAC Creme Cup

 I have been looking for the perfect nude pink lipstick ever since the 7th grade and I finally found it 15 years later.

 This lipstick is an amazing baby pink that goes great with a natural daytime look or a night time smokey eye. It gives your lip a beautiful shine while moisturizing all day.

I feel this truly would go great with any and all skin tones. It has great color pigments and I find it lasts nicely.

NYX Lip Liner in PINKY and NUDE PINK
NYX slim lip pencils are a must in my makeup kit. I found these liners at Ulta for $3.49 each. At buy 1 get 1 for 50% off, I had to buy a few to try out.
These liners are fabulous!
They glide on smoothly and effortlessly.
Easily blendable, providing great long-lasting wear for all day kissable peckers.
Another great plus to the NYX liner brand is that it doesn't bleed.
I have found that pairing NYX Pinky liner with MAC's Pink Nouveau and NYX Nude Pink liner with MAC's Cream Cup, make for a beautiful set of lips.

I refer to this nail polish as the perfect coraly poppy shade of summer.
This polish packs a fun and flirty punch of summer on any mani or pedi. 
A great drugstore buy with great lasting ability. Touch up with a clear coat every 5 days.

 

 

Hair Donut

My go-to hair style this summer is the definitely the hair donut, in other words "The Sock Bun."

A great way to fake an expensive looking hairdo.

Smudge Proof Eyes and Bat-Worthy Lashes

HAPPY TUESDAY :)

 

What girl doesn't love playing up her eyes, right?! Well, it sure is no fun when your flawless face you beautified turns into a hot mess hours later. I cannot stress enough the importance of an eye primer. This was truly one of the most genius products ever made because I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT it. No matter if you are oily or dry, an eye primer should be a must in your daily makeup routine. Without it, your liner, shadows and mascara can end up looking like a smudged up mess.

Eye primers are designed to make your eye makeup stay put all day long.

 

Here is my step-by-step routine.
 

1. After cleansing my face, I apply my facial moisturizer to my entire face.

2. I then apply my eye serum to my lids and under eye area. 

3. I allow my face to soak up all this goodness while I go blow dry my hair.

4. I then reach for my foundation to apply to my entire lid and under eye.

5. I then apply my primer to my entire lid.

6. Apply any shadow, liner and mascara.

7. Finish by cleaning your under eye area with a Q-tip, apply concealer, and set it with powder.

 

BOOM you have perfection :)

 

Three of my favorite eye primers at the moment are listed below.

 

1. MAC Paint Pots

Definitely one of my favs. These little pots come in 16 glorious shades. The texture is silky smooth when applied to the eyelid keeping your shadow and liner in place all day. And boy does it! No streaks, bleeding or creasing. Definitely a winner in my book and has been a staple in my kit for a few years now. What's great about this product is that it doesn't need replacing more than once a year because a little goes a long way. Another plus is that this product can be used alone or with eyeshadow.

Buy at any MAC Cosmetics counter in Macy's or large department store.

 

2. Urban Decay Primer Potion

The skies have lifted and you are transported to heaven. This is definitely a top seller if you have an oily lid. Creasing and fading no more ladies. Shadow is magnetized with this primer and stays in place all day. Eyeshadow looks brighter and bolder with this primer so less needs to be applied.

Take full advantage and test this product out at Ulta before you buy.

 

3. Milani Eyeshadow Primer

A top drugstore primer that can keep up with the best of them. This primer dries invisibly smooth and beautifies any shadow, making it last all day. Quite the bargain. You can't go wrong here.

What's a girl to do if genetics didn't bless her with celebrity lashes and no time to apply a false set of lashes everyday?!  Deep breaths ladies. I have a few mascaras I live by and I hope will work for you too.

 

1. MAC Zoomlash

I continue to buy this amazing tube over and over again because it is the bomb diggity!

 It is my must have mascara to achieve false looking lashes without the hassle. It lengthens and thickens to give you that WOW factor. It has amazing staying power lasting all day. I cannot tell you the amount of compliments I have received over the years (before using Latisse or Careprost) on my lashes, and this is the product I have to thank for.

I only apply this only to my top lashes. It applies a bit wet and has the tendency to bleed when applied to my lower lash line no matter how great I prep my under eyes.

I will never be able to let this little friend go.

2. Benefit Bad Gal Lash

Size does matter! This wand and brush are as BIG and BAD as they come, giving you a blast of lashes in 1 to 2 swipes. Start at the base of your lash and work your way up. I like to layer this mascara on top of my MAC Zoomlash for the ultimate bat-worthy lash that will stop most anyone in their tracks.

Test this mascara at Ulta before buying.

 

3. Maybelline Volum' Express the Falsies

One of my favorite drugstore mascaras on the market. I have learned when it comes to mascara that drugstore brands can pack quite a punch. This mascara has a fabulous curved wand that gives you a great va va voom daytime look without getting too crazy.

Available at any drugstore.

 

4. MAC Opulash

Known for its HARDCORE brush, giving the most amazing voluminous lengthening lashes a girl can ever ask for. This brush is incredibly large, reminding me of the DiorShow brush. It is my staple for my lower lash line creating long feathery lashes. It goes on smooth separating every lash, never clumping or bleeding, lasting all day long. It does have a drier consistency so you must apply quickly to get the look you want to achieve. For a date night with the hubs or night on the town with my girlies, I apply this over my MAC Zoomlash to my top lashes for a WOWZA look.

 

 

 

 

 

I hope you all gained some product knowledge after this post :) I can't swear enough about using eye primers and face primers. They truly are worth the buy and help your makeup stay put all day.
